ROBBERY: DECAY OF SOCIAL MORALITY

 Theft and robbery are now a national problem. Theft and robbery mean snatching away someone’s property without his consent. It is increasing in Bangladesh now a days. It is never ethical to take someone’s things without their permission. It destroys human morality. We see theft and robbery in many places around us. Thieves take advantage of people’s indifference and steal everything. One day, I was travelling by bus from Dhaka to Mymensingh. The traffic was heavy that the bus can’t even move. Then I felt like looking out of the window and observing the surrounding scene. I saw some young street boys talking between them. They were looking in the buses those stuck in the traffic jam. They were searching for something here and there. Two or three seats ahead of me on the bus, a man was sitting by the window talking on the phone. One of the boys noticed it and came to the bus. Immediately, he jumped and ran to grab the man’s phone. Then there was chaos on the bus. The man got off the bus but to no avail. He could not catch the thief.

When someone loses something by robbery, he feels depressed because of this. Some person lost his money which is his all earning of a month or a year. Some people lose everything for it. When he loses something like this, he becomes disoriented. So, it is very important to take steps to overcome this problem.

This problem is increasing in Bangladesh as the young street boys are not enough educated. They are deprived of basic human needs. Most street boys live below poverty. Because of these problems, it is increasing rapidly. We see many boys who snatch away bags and phones from the bus. This problem should be stopped otherwise it will destroy our social morality. People of all ages should come forward to solve this problem. The police should catch these thieves from the streets in disguise. Sometimes, people in high places are engaged to do these things. They should be caught first. Most of the street boys are drug addicts. They take in drugs and even they sell those to others. For this reason, they should be caught. Some laws should be introduced to prevent theft and spread of drugs. They should be strictly followed.
